Remote Education

Remote Education

Should it become necessary to provide remote education the school will use a mixed approach of materials and learning created by the school and signposting to ready made materials eg. Resources by Oak Academy.  Daily activities will be set and the school will follow the same curriculum set out in the long term planning.

A Weekly plan will be shared with parents.  The school expectation would be that English (including phonics) and maths would be expected daily. There would be freedom to complete work from other subjects to fit into the weeks as suited.

The school website will be the place where learning is shared with parents and children. Where a child does not have access to digital or online access at home we will endeavour to support parents where possible.  Alternatively, packs of material will be provided.

The teachers will make use of IT and create videos to support the learning going on that week.

We realise that different families could be in very different circumstances and this makes it difficult to define clear expectations.  Remote learning can be very challenging and parents can put a lot of pressure on themselves so the school is very mindful of helping with this rather than adding pressure.

The work will be able to be submitted to teachers and this will for feedback. If you child has additional support adapted learning will be provided. In this case individual suggestions through discussion with your teacher will also be available.
